I have tried on numerous occasions to set up logging.

In the log directory, there are no logs. I have the static IP address and encryption key configured.

Is the encryption the key I used when running the initial setup??

Can someone help me please?

1. Connect to the firebox with Control Center using your status (read only) password. Open the Policy Manager (the icon looks like a folder with a Firebox in front of it).

2. Go to Setup>Logging and click "Add," and enter the IP of the machine you have the event processor installed on and enter a password (shared key). This Shared Key can be anything you like.

3. Click on File>Save>to firebox and it will ask for your configuration password. You can save the “config file only” option and save to the firebox.

4. After it reboots, right click on the "Event Processor" (it's the red box with the blue monitor in the system tray) and left click on "WSEP Status/Configuration”.

5. Once that is open, click File>Set Log Encryption Key and enter the password you entered as a Shared Key in Setup>Logging as above. Click "OK", then “Save Changes” and “Close” until you are back on the desktop and you're done. If you receive the error “could not connect to service”, verify that when you right click on the event processor you see “Start service” grayed out. If “Stop service” is grayed out, you need to start the service. If they are both grayed out, you will need to reinstall the software and be sure to select “make this machine my logging host” to install the event processor.

6. Reboot the firebox, connect to it, and verify that you are logging (it will say "Logging to: x.x.x.x" in the control center when you connect to the firebox).
