I have an application for a client that I want to verify the Linksys units will be capable of performing.
I have four separate networks all with their own Internet connections. Each site has a static IP address to assign to each local Linksys router.
The router is .1 on all LAN networks (192.168.x.1) and it will provide DHCP, and NAT translation for clients on it's local network.
Net 1: 192.168.1.0/24
12.17.100.1 (WAN side IP)
Net 2: 192.168.2.0/24
12.17.101.1 (WAN side IP)
Net 3: 192.168.3.0/24
12.17.102.1 (WAN side IP)
Net 4: 192.168.4.0/24
12.17.103.1 (WAN side IP)
I want all sites to have direct access to the Internet through their own Internet connection. I also want to setup VPN tunnels between all of these networks.
Here are the tunnels I want to have.
Tunnel 1: Net 1 ----to---- Net 2
Tunnel 2: Net 1 ----to---- Net 3
Tunnel 3: Net 1 ----to---- Net 4
Tunnel 4: Net 2 ----to---- Net 3
Tunnel 5: Net 2 ----to---- Net 4
Tunnel 6: Net 3 ----to---- Net 4
First question is can the BEFVP41 handle this type of setup?
Second, will users at a Net 1 be able to do a NET USE command to access shares on other networks through the VPN without turning on the Netbios feature in the router?
Third, Does anyone have a rough idea how much traffic it can encrypt without bogging down?
Any advice is greatly appreciated. I have researched a lot and it looks like the BEFVP41 should be capable of doing this. but I would really like to know from someone who has prior experience with this gear.
Thanks a bunch,
- Dan
