I am a novice on the Avaya IP Office 500v2 8.1, but have managed to install the system with 42 digital sets. Step 1, complete. Now steps 2, I need to set up for IP telephones, specifically, the 1616. I have not yet connected the IPO to the company local area network. I would like to setup a static IP address. I assume their IT person will need to set that. Once connected, then what? The system has a 32VCM, and license for twelve phones.
I appreciate any input.

You must set the fixed IP Address and the IT guy should tell you what IP Addres to use.
It is way beyond this forum to learn you how to deploy IP phones as Avaya has it well documented.
Go to the Avaya knowledgebase if you have access to it or use Google and search for the Avaya IP Office IP phone installation guide.
There are also a lot of instructional video's about this matter on youtube.
This way you will be abled a lot faster to install the phones as when you are helped here.
