Hi,

I'm not 100% sure this is the right section for this question, but it is a Crystal question.

I recently set up a new pc running Windows 7 and I am trying to connect to MS access databases using ODBC/find file DSN. On my old pc (XP) I just went to Data Sources in the control panel and clicked "add" and selected Microsoft Access Driver. However when I do this on Windows 7 there is no access driver even though I have access installed- am I missing something?

Thanks.

This is probably a Windows question. If you're having problems in the Data Sources control panel, that's separate from Crystal. But, try creating the data source directly in Crystal and see if you still have the same problem.

I think you need to download a driver compatible with Windows 7. Try googling MS Access ODBC driver Windows 7. Once downloaded, you can set up a file dsn and select it.

Thanks- figured it out. I just had to go to:

C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe and the driver was there.

Hit this problem myself. I had a similar problem with my Vista 64 bit. There are two ODBC confif programs. The one on the control panel is for 64 bit apps, so if you want a data connection for a 32 bit app like Crystal, you need to use the EXE above. thats the 32 bit config.

Discussed this in more detail in an issue in our newsletter last year.
