Setting up email notification 1

I have installed insight manager 7 onto a desktop. I have entered what i think is the appropriate "email smtp host" and "management server email address" settings. However email notifcation tasks are not working. I get following message in the task logs "Could not connect to SMTP host: HOEXCHANGE, port: 25"

What is the problem with email notification?
 
From the Desktop PC thats running Insight Manager try the following;;

"TELNET your.smtp.server 25"

Without the quotes

You should get a prompt back from the SMTP server

If the connect fails.. its may be some sort of Firewall blocking conntions between you and the server on port 25

 
Had the same problem...I had to use the Fully Qualified Domain Name to resolve the problem. Try HOEXCHANGE.COMPANY.COM or you can use the IP address.
