Setting up e-mail at home

Hi i want to connect to my e-mail at work over the internet, i have the web address to use, but when it asks for username and password i dont know what username it is, is it the name of the e-mail server or what???? I have the ip address to use, but am unsure as to how to use it.

It depends on how your work set it up, but is usually is your username and password you use on your domain. You proably have to put it in the form of "Username"@yourworkdomain.com and then the password.
