Is it possible for a cisco 2610 router to be a DNS server. What are the commands to implement? Does anybody know any links, thanks alot.

Please have anybody done this? I want my 2600 router to be a DNS server is it possible? Any input will help, thanks.

I don't think this is possible with the base IOS. You may require the Cisco Distributed Director software. Check the cisco web site for more info on CDD and determine if this suits your requirements. I would still recommend running the DNS service on a server for simpler management.

A router is to route packets. Just imagine all the caching a DNS server does that will bog down a 2600 router.
