Setting Up DISA

I was able to set up DISA and was able to get the LOOP line to answer and provide stutter dial tone. It took the test password 123456 that I was using just fine, I get a second dial tone and it allowed me to dial an internal extension ok, but I could not use FEATURE ( * ) codes for example to Centrex Flash the line *71 nor could I get an outside line when dialing 9. It keeps giving me a fast busy for a few seconds then returns to internal dial tone. Any suggestions?

Which remote package are you using? package 00 has no access to line pools. Package 01 by default allows Line Pool A.

Yes that was it that took care of the problem. I'd like to be aba flash a feature when I dial * 71 I get a busy sign when I dial star 71 I get a busy signal.

If I am correct, the only feature code that can be dialed by remote users is the Page feature.

However, there is a way to send a link signal without using a feature code.

1. Build a route that includes a link signal in the dial out number and that uses the line pool allowed by the remote package.
2. Create a destination code that uses that route.
3. When the system provides dial tone, dial that destination code.

I just tried it but when I entered the string F715551212 as soon as I tried to save the entry I got an error message saying that that was not a valid entry. IS there suppose to be another code to use to indicate I want to FLASH the CO line?

Hum, it appears that a pause (F78) is allowed, but a link signal (F71) is not.

Would a link signal be allowed in line redirection?

1. Pick a target line that is not already used, give it a received number and assign it to appear on a phone that is allowed to redirect its lines.
2. On the phone, use line redirection (F84) to redirect the target line.
3. When the system provides dial tone, dial the received number.

If you successfully grabbed a line and get dial tone then you need to do a flash hook on the phone you are using, see your telephone user guide how to do a flash/link.

FLASH *71 will not work only PAGE *6xx will work. That is the only feature code that will work. DISA seems to have feature restrictions for some reason.

Because they are not really needed....you are using an analog set that has it;s own features and why my statement above should work fine.
