Hi everyone

I've searched this site and found some information on how to set this up but i cant for the life of me get it to work.
We have several 800 numbers coming into the console and we are no longer keeping a receptionist. Our main number is xxx-xxx-4550 and 4550 is the extension for hunt group 15. In hunt group 15, the number on page 3 is shown as 4530 - the operator console ext.

In audix, what do I need to setup to get this to work?
Ive changed sub 4550 and chose "name" on pg 2 and e and transfer as the settings on page 3. All i get when i call the xxx-xxx-4550 number, get our normal greeting (thank you for calling...our office is currently closed please call back during normal business hours.) and press 1 is "You have selected an invalid option"

Also, normally our greeting stays on night service since nobody is there and at the end of the greeting it says "attendant service is not available, please try again later. Please disconnect." then it hangs up.

We want to change that greeting to say that, plus add dial by name functionality. What am i missing? Is there a doc somewhere that explains how to set this up?

I have read several threads here and none of them did the trick. Ive even got so far as audox was waiting for input after i pressed "1" for dial by name, but said "subscriber ID not found, please try again"

sorry i forgot to add - im very rusty in audix..our old audix admin left. Im much stronger on the switch side, so if its easier to do this with vectors, im all ears. :)

Nevermind - I figured it out.

For anyone interested my solution was two-fold:

1) In Audix under disp system-parameters features I had to change "Transfer Type" to 'enhanced_no_cover_0' and wipe out my covering extension (which was set to 'none' and '4550', respectively)

2) Stupid oversight..but our switch was setup to display Lastname, Firstname but the Audix subscribers were programmed as Firstname, Lastname so no wonder typing the last name returned "subscriber ID not found, please try again"

Here's how you could do it in a vector. Haven't used this in a while, may need some editing...

Number: 10 Name: Dial by Name
Multimedia? n Attendant Vectoring? n Meet-me Conf? n Lock? n
Basic? n EAS? n G3V4 Enhanced? n ANI/II-Digits? n ASAI Routing? n
Prompting? y LAI? n G3V4 Adv Route? n CINFO? n BSR? n Holidays? y
Variables? n 3.0 Enhanced? n
01 wait-time 0 secs hearing silence
02 collect 4 digits after announcement 5009 (enter first 4 letters of last name)
03 route-to name1 with coverage y
04 goto step 11 if nomatch
05 collect 11 digits after announcement 5010 (continue spelling)
06 route-to name2 with coverage y
07 goto step 11 if nomatch
08 collect 2 digits after announcement 5011 (enter 1st 2 letters of first name)
09 route-to name3 with coverage y
10 goto step 11 if nomatch
11 collect 1 digits after announcement 4504 (start over)
12 goto step 2 if digits = 1
13 route-to number 0 with cov y if digit = 0
14 route-to number 0 with cov y if unconditionally
15 stop

Thanks,
CJH

Thanks for the reply. However, I just finished setting this up using AA. After going through it all, i'd certainly prefer using vectoring, so your post got me interested.

What is the name1 entry/how do I administer it? Im assuming its a table?

CJH - nice info. I just got a switch with this feature. Much nicer that going to Audix.

pbxman - I did a quick test vector, no configuing of name1 was needed. Itlooks at the name on the station form for the last name and my stations are built first name first. very very cool.

Does not play well with others

Does anyone know how to access the dial-by-name feature. I want to use the route-to "name" command in my vector. My vector keeps giving me mismatch everytime I go to that step in my vector.

thx,
L-
