We have a legend phone system that currently has 3 operators set up, extensions 110, 112, and 140. I am wondering how I can set up another extension as an operator so they can have line appearances as opposed to just a pool button.

From what I have read, I understand that operators can only be on the 1st and 5th ports. I have an open 1st port on one of the boards that is currently assigned extension 7199, but no uses this extension.

I want to make extension 139 the extra operator. Do I simply swap the extension numbers so that 7199 would become 139 and then physically switch the wire to that port?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Your question:

"

"

Is almost the full answer.

Once you get that port to be 13, the other step you must do is make 139 an Operator position.

First off, the system has to be idle to do this.

Then it's:

System Program > Exit > Operator > Positions > DLC > 139 > Enter and then Press Store All

That should do it.

Please forgive the typo:

Once you get that port to be 13,

Should be:

Once you get that port to be 139,

Ok so I got the operator set up and all the lines appear just fine. The only problem I have is that the last three buttons that I would like to program features onto will not let me. When I go into central programming and try and change them it says programming error. They are assigned to lines 813,814, and 815 that we do not use.

Also, how can I change the line that picks up when you pick up the handset, right now it picks up intercom and I would like it to pick up the next free line.

Thanks!

First this part:

"They are assigned to lines 813,814, and 815 "

Under EXTENSIONS, Lines & Trunks, (Enter the Extension you want to program) remove lines 813, 814 & 815 by "TOUCHING" the red buttons that correspond with lines 813, 814 & 815.

Now, the other part:

"...it picks up intercom and I would like it to pick up the next free line"

At the phone, do FEATURE Zero Zero, press a LINE BUTTON and then dial *14, then press the LINE BUTTONS in the ORDER you want them selected. (8 only)

Once you do that, press ENTER.

Then press HOME.
