I know how to program an auto attendant, but what I'm not sure of is how to locate an available extension, that I could point the 800 number to. What I'm looking to do is have an 800 number point to a 3 digit DNIS which will point to the auto attendant i will have programmed.

The system is a Merlin Legend rel 7.0 and Merlin Mail is the voicemail system. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I don't have the 800 number pointed to any 3 digits yet. I need to see what is available on the system and then I can go from there. My extension start at 600 and goto 649, so I'm wondering if I can use an available extension in the above range to accomplish what I'm trying to do. Thanks.

Yes, you can do that, or you can have send something else and just renumber an ADJUNCT.

That way, you are not wasting a D-I-D extension.

If you print an extension directory, you will see how the ADJUNCTS are numbered. Probably in the range of 7300, 7301, etc...

And then I could renumber an adjunct to whichever extension I want to use as long as it isn't being used, correct?
