Does any one know how to setup Active directory correctly or have setup active directory successfully on Windows 2000 Advance Server? I need directions on what to must be installed and what must not be install.

What are the requirements of your network? How to install AD when you are not seeing its role.
Make a blueprint of that network, see the name conventions, name space requiremens, OSes used, etc.
Installing AD,... has no other components. Just install it. Of course, don't forget that Win2k needs a DNS. If the system cannot find a proper DNS then it will ask you to allow creation of a DNS server too.
Advanced Server, DataCenter Server, or Server, AD is a service running all all of them without differences. Gia Betiu

Okay please be advised on what Giabbetiu had mentioned above ....... You will need to Run DCPROMO to install active directory to promote a stand alone windows 2000 server to a Domain contorler....... Anthony Cabanas
