Have hit the next hurdle! The ADSL modem is a 2wire - 2701HGV-W Gateway

Have successfully setup a private static IP address for my deemed web server with Windows 2000 Advanced Server operating system. I did so through the ADSL modem configuration:
URL]

I presume the "public routed subinterface" in the following screen is the IP forwarding needed to make the web server visible to the external internet:
Screen2-1.jpg

If I enable that then the web server machine (greg-geoy6uulel) disappears from the following config screen and I cannot connect to the internet on the web server:
Screen1-1.jpg

When I disable the "public routed subinterface" the web server machine (greg-geoy6uulel) re-appears in the config screen and I can again connect to the internet on it.

What is going on here?
