I have a site that is live on Windows server 2003 running WAMP. I want to setup a test site for changes and updates but am unsure how to go about it. I have read about virtual hosts, but would I be able to set up virtual host and be able to access it through my web browser remotely to view my changes?

Yes. Create a dns record for a sub-domain. For example, if your domain is mydomain.com, you would create a dns "A" record to point testsite.mydomain.com to the ip of your test server. If you will just be hosting this one site on it, then you don't need virtual hosts setup. Simply copy your pages to the existing DocumentRoot and you're all set. If you need help with a specific issue on setting up a virtual host we will be glad to help.
