Hello all,
currently we have a HP printer that has a dynamic ip address but occassionaly(about once a week) the machine will lose power and everyone has to reconfigure the ip address.
I was curious about giving it a static ip address so that we don't have to do that anymore.
What kind of steps do i have to take in order to give a static address?
thanks

HP SUPPORT SAYS:

The IP address may be changed using the front panel of the HP Jetdirect device. This method of front panel configuration varies depending on the model of HP printer that is being used.

If you are still using jetadmin you can go here for more help.

Good Luck! Kimber

The more I learn,I realize how much more there is to know!

if the printer is dhcp then I assume you have a dhcp server. all you need to do is make a reservation on it so that it will allways give the same dhcp address to the printer (by mac address)
