Hello,
I just purchased a new cas lp1000n scale that prints random weight barcodes, and I have a question having to do with making it work properly with my micros 3700 pos.
Does anyone know how to setup the micros 3700 pos to read the random weight barcodes? I have my micros 3700 pos setup to read barcodes off of items like 6 packs of beer and such already, but I didn't know if I needed to do something special for the random weight barcodes on either my pos or my scale that prints the label with the random weight barcode on it to make it work right. I'm assuming I would have to program to scales item number for my product sold by weight to be the same as the micros 3700 pos menu item number for that product, but wanted to make sure I did not need to do more.
Also, Is there a way to have my menu items that are sold by weight to be rung up on the register using both a manual eight entry on the micros 3700 pos and by a random weight barcode? I ask this because even though my scale prints random weight barcode stickers, I would still like to have a way to manually enter weight for the menu item as backup. You see, I don't want my barcode scanner to fail me or my scale to fail me and not be able to easily ring up these menu items when we are busy. I know I could create two menu items for each and only have the manual weight entry one show up on the screen, but is there a way to have to have one menu item use either method when its rung up?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
lachilles
