Okay, I have The new Windows ME OS! My question's have to do with starting a home Intranet. Does the Sony PCV RX270 DS have the capability to be the host computer for a home Intranet without having to buy anything? Okay so lets say it does, so how do I hook up another computer, or can I? Specifically, a Macintosh Performa 6115CD, I would like to be able to do this mainly so we can share our DSL internet connection which is a Bellsouth,Speedtouch usb by Alcatel. Does anybody have any ideas? or Perhaps somewhere I could go to get more information on how to do this? eg: what software I will need, what other hardware I will need etc.

Thank You!
Sincerely,
David E.

Use the Sony for the ICS host, get a second NIC, plug the Mac directly into the Sony's second NIC using a crossover cable. Install ICS software on the Sony, set MacOS to find its address dynamically or manually configure it within the 192.168.0.x/255.255.255.0 network, gateway 192.168.0.1, dns servers are your provider's DNS servers (run winipcfg, hit the more details, you'll see the DNS servers listed. click the ... button to switch thru the list of them).

or

Use Wingate, Winproxy, NAT32, SurfDoubler, or any of the myriad or products that replaces ICS. Sygate even allows you to do NAT with only 1 NIC instead of the usual 2.

or

Just spend the $ for a NAT router and hook it to your DSL modem, then plug both machines into it and configure them to use DHCP.

Thanks! I'm sure one of those will work!
