We recently installed a new converged network for a new site we are moving to, and we're using CM 4.1.2 with Unity Unified messaging. I have most features and services working great.

Theres a few features that Im trying to set up and was hoping someone could offer some input.

1 - I configured a "meet-me" number pattern...when i dial the 4-digit extension my 7960 display reads "to confrenece" and i believe Im in successfully..but when i have another person attempt to dial the same extension and meet me in teh conference, he cannot. He gets a re-order tone aka a fast busy..The global settings in CM are set for 4 participants, but I cant seem to get more trhan 1 person in the conference...

2 - On the user web page where someone can go to update/create speed dials for their 7960, etc. there is an option to create a personal address list, which i beleieve is accessible from the ip phone from the services key (maming it a better feature than speed dial lists). How can i give access to the phone to display these contacts and dial from the phone. I assume I am pointing the ip phone to a specific service URL, but not sure what that URL should be?...

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!

I had this issue before and it was related to the codec used (in your regions) between IP Phones. If they were different like g711u and g729 I get the fast busy.

Another possible cause is with locations and not enough bandwidth. Adjust the bandwidth reserve under LOCATIONS and view the results.

Some people don't like messing around with the codec between sites. However, if I don't change the codec or locations, I can use the the external number to the ConfBr/Meet-me number and get connected. But, you need to ensure that the ConfBr server is in the same Device Pool as your Voice Gateway (MCGP).

Are these IP Phones in the same Dial Pool (hence using the same Region and Location)?

If you place all of your phones to use the same Region codec) and Location (using resonable amount of bandwidth reserve) you shouldn't haven't a problem. That is what I did for the most part and it is working for us in a enterprise size network.

You know what...this may sound simple, but I've been the victim of this with my Meet-Me conferences...make sure that anyone dialing into the Meet-Me after you've established the conference is NOT pressing the Meet-Me softkey, then the extension; make sure they just dial the extension. Again, it may be something more high-end than that, but that's a very common problem. Also, make sure that your Meet-Me numbers are in a partition found in the calling search space on the phones that are trying to dial in (clear as mud?). If that partition containing the Meet-Me numbers are not in the CSS of the device trying to dial into the conference, you'll get a fast busy.

As far as your second issue, you have to set up the Personal Address Book/Fast Dials under the Services Menu. You have to add the Address Book and Fast Dials as individual services in CCMAdmin, then subscribe the phones to those services. Then, using the CCMUser page, users can add speed dials to their address book, and access them via the services menu.

For the Personal Address Book, the URL to enter under the Service configuration is:

For the Fast Dials, the URL to enter under the Service configuration is:

Here's a URL to Cisco's site that will help you set up the services completely; ignore all that stuff about the Address Book Synchronizer, and just look at the CCMAdmin Services setup:

Hope this helps -
