Hi

I have printer servers connected to our terminal servers; I busy setting them up but the problem is when i print to a specific printer it comes out gibberish; the printer on lpt1 prints fines but the lpt2 printer is funny. the printers are exactly the same and the drivers are the correct ones. note this is on windows 2003; ive set it up exactly how the specify in the manual. these printers do work from our HP-Unix system.

Check in BIOS to see if lpt1 and lpt2 are setup the same.

Are they connected with lpt or CAT5? There is a "devil" that lives inside the HP printers I own...if there's any sort of system problem I get the gibberish you mention (odd characters, page after page). My only solution is to unplug the printer and let it sit long enough for memory to clear, then reboot. If this is not practical w/ terminal servers then log off/on with suspect printer unplugged. Barbaric but it works [smile]

Very barbaric and not functional. Ive done a bit of searching. I was using Generic text drivers but then I installed the specific drivers for those printers and it works. Im now busy setting them up to print through our Informix server so the printer spooler on the TS doesnt wait for the jobs on Informix to finish and then time out. It all works now. Im just having a problem finding a Mannesman Tally 6090 driver for xp and 2003. I found one for NT but the kernel doesnt support it. Any idea's on that one?? Thanks for the help.
