We have a caller id card that we plan on using on our Nortel MICS system. Is there a certain slot that the card needs to be plugged into? Once a caller id card is installed and setup will the caller id work on every incoming line no matter which block they're punched down on? What kind of programming needs to be performed before the card will work?

Caller ID card REPLACES your DS card. It will provide CLID for 4 lines only. And it must be programmed. How it is programmed depends on your software version.

On a MICS it's best to have at least 6.1 software that way every set will have the ability to see CLID prior to answering the call. The downfall to any software lower then that on a MICS is only 1 telephone set has the ability to see the CLID info prior to answering the call, the rest of the phones can see CLID but not until after the call is answered or pressing feature 811 while the phone is ringing.
