Hello. I am having a bit of a challenge re-connecting a Bogen GS250 paging amp back into our Avaya system. It was set up and working some time ago but was removed some years back. I have a trunk group configured (TAC 162) and an analog station configured. When I patch in an analog phone into the assigned port (003v505) and call the assigned extension (49650) the phone rings and performs normally. When I patch a single twisted-pair (RJ45-pins 4 and 5) into 003v505, I get a dial tone out of Bogen amp/speaker, followed by the hi/lo error tone, then the speaker eventually goes quiet. Calling the extension 49650 when the amp is patched gets a tone, then an error "extension not valid". It looks like the amp connections are good but I'm missing some trunk configuration settings somewhere.
The paging trunk is set up as a wats type with loop-start. Dial access is yes. The puzzle is configuring the port in the trunk group. Port 003v505 is where the amp is patched but I cannot assign that port in the trunk group because it's already is use at the station. I can un-configure the port from the phone extension and assign it in the trunk but I still get errors when dialing the extension, TAC or access codes. What am I missing? I know this should be a simple set up. I've attempted a service ticket with Avaya on this and they seem beffudled by this also.
Any ideas?
