I'm trying to figure out how to set up a 411 on our system, so when I customer calls in after hours, they can press 411 and get a directory listing, where they can input the first 3 char of the first name of the person they are trying to reach and get their extension. Any ideas?

Thanks;

Assuming you are on a Merlin Messaging or Merlin Mail system, all you have to do is tell the customer in the AA greeting to press * 2, the next prompt asks the caller to "spell" the name of the person, the transfer is then made. One word of caution, when you record teh AA greeting, to tell the caller, specify where the caller should dial by last name or first name, depending on how your mailbox directory listings are set up. Thanks. That worked. Shows you how much I actually know about the phone system we've got.

Now for the next question, when I enter the first 4 letters (first or last name) of someone in the system, it says no subscribers found, any ideas on what I do for this step? Do I have to enter a "subscriber" list of some sort with their names?

Thanks again;

Figured it out. Just have to set up the directory listing for all the extensions and it works.

Thanks again;
