I am trying to set up a Cisco 2811 as a voice gateway with a VWIC2-1MFT-T1/E1 and Verizon PRI. I believe the PRI is actually syncing with the router but I cannot get the gateway to register with CallManager 4.1(3)sr3c. I have entered only a basic config as I am new to this. Here is the router config:

I have the CallManager configured:

Product: Cisco 2811
Protocol: MGCP
MGCP: GTOWN-PD-2811

Domain Name: GTOWN-PD-2811
Description: PD PSTN
Cisco Callmanager Group: CMG

Module in Slot 0: NM-VWIC-MBRD

Subunit 0: VWIC2-1MFT-T1/E1-T1 0/0/0

Global ISDN Switch Type: NI2
Switchback Timing: Graceful
Switchback Uptime-delay: 10
Switchback schedule: 12:00

Endpoint Configuration:

Product: Cisco 2811
Gateway: S0/SU0/DS1-0@GTOWN-PD-2811
Device Protocol: Digital Access PRI
Registration: Unknown
IP Address:

Endpoint name:S0/SU0/DS1-0@GTOWN-PD-2811

I think everything else on this page is just pertaining to the PRI and not necessarily to the registration with Call Manager. If you need more info please tell me and I will be glad to post it. Please tell me what I am doing wrong. Like I said before I am new to this so any tips or hints would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Chad

For starters

Verify hostname: 2811-PD
Verify your domain name

controller T1 0/0/0
framing esf
linecode b8zs
pri-group timeslots 1-24 service mgcp

interface Serial0/0/0:23
no ip address
isdn switch-type primary-ni
isdn incoming-voice voice
isdn bind-l3 ccm-manager
no cdp enable

Show isdn status look for multiple -frames-established.

2811 Config:

hostname 2811-PD
ip domain name GTOWN-PD-2811

CCM Config:

Domain Name: GTOWN-PD-2811

Thanks for your quick reply. Where exactly would I verify the hostname in CCM?

811-PD#sh isdn stat
Global ISDN Switchtype = primary-ni

%Q.931 is backhauled to CCM MANAGER 0x0003 on DSL 1. Layer 3 output may not appy

ISDN Serial0/0/0:23 interface

Layer 2 Status:

Layer 3 Status:

Active dsl 1 CCBs = 0
The Free Channel Mask: 0x807FFFFF
Number of L2 Discards = 0, L2 Session ID = 1

You should show Multiple frames Established if the PRI is good to the router..

In Call Manager under gateway config/domain name insert your router hostname there(case sensitive).

So the Domain Name in the router is not what I enter in the CCM domain name. I'll actually use the host name of the router as the domain name in the ccm.

Thanks

Okay, I've made some changes, found one big goof on my part and now the 2811 gives this:

2811#sh ccm-manager

Somewhat of a change. It still says download attempted but does not state whether successful or failed. Any ideas?

Is your isdn status on the router still down? Lets resolve that issue first... In Call Manager is your gateway registered now?
