Hi,

Apologies for this as it is a very basic question...

I have basically blagged my way into a job, and I have not had any experience with Dell servers..

I need to set up a poweredge 1950...(cds that came with server are not here)
It currently has nothing installed..I neded to get server 2003 on it asap...

DO I first need to use a dell cd for drivers etc? can this be downloaded? then will it ask for Windows server cd?

Should I be using server 2003 R2 ? and should it be x64bit edition? ( I know I dont know anything)

Also will windows update be enough or will I have to update firmware..

A step by step guide for a complete noob would be fantastic!!!

Thanks in advance

My recommendation is to call Dell if the server is still under support.
They should walk you through the process.
It saved me lots on time when getting my first few PEs back form disaster.

Good Luck!
