We are moving all faxing (100 lines) to fax server and DID. We have M1&Callpilot and MICS with NAM meaning Unified or Desktop messaging. If you were to do this what would you do?Most of Nortel's choices involve user training and client updates. Something simple with central administration would be best. ie. receive fax, automatically email designated person with file. The second portion (fax from desktop) seems easier with the user of fax printer driver, but?
This is a chance to implement fax server with some planning and fore-sight.
Your comments and advice are appreciated. Results and performance during implementation will be published through this forum.

We are not really suppose to promote products here just give advice. With that being said.

Do you have a network of computers as well?

I currently run 2 WINFAX 10.0 servers and I would not implement them in an enviroment again. EVER!! (unless my boss told me I had to). Biscom is a company I was trying to get my company to implement as it is expandable you can use PRIs with their produce. There are many other features that work well in a networked enviroment. There are others I just never did the reseach as we had something that work (hence not very well). Good luck with your adventure please keep us informed of what you accomplish.

Cheeses,
Try a program called Fax Relay. Don't know where to get it but I think it's scalable to your level. Above all else keep the whole thing SIMPLE. Don't get seduced with the technology. Don't forget your users have to get up and running with basic function in about 6 minutes.

Cheers

Heard the name Biscom many times now in different forums. Not many negative comments. Mostly positve; Good product?

We use RelayFax for our customers. It will OCR and Parse the incoming fax, uses rules-based engine to forward FAX to email client, has a print client/driver, will send outbound email as FAX by putting phone number in subject field, lotsa neat stuff.

Not free, but not too expensive. Works great on Win Server.
