I am trying to figure out how to set the time and date on our Norstar system. I tried following the tips given in a related post ("How do I set time and date on a Startalk Mini"), but Feature 984 gives an "inactive feature" message.

Can anyone help?

Thanks!
Rebeca

LOL ... I just love it when I can answer my own questions!! I found a rather vague explanation elsewhere and then fiddled with it until I figured it out. I was using a MICS phone ...

1. Press the FEATURE button then **23646 (spells ADMIN);
2. Press the NEXT key twice, the display will show
"3. TIME AND DATE" (NEXT key is SPEED DIAL button);
3. Press the SHOW key once (“Show key” is the CALL FWD
button);
4. Press the CHANGE key and follow the instructions on the
display. (LINE 2 and SPEED DIAL buttons control back
and forth movement through menu)
5. When the time and/or date change is complete, press the
RLS button.

the above is correct as long as noone have changed the installer password . what type of system is is 3x8 8x24 0x32 or an 0x16 . I have installed and set up many startalk flashs .. Never the mini but I would assume it have to be kinda like the full version . Did you activate the feature codes ?

Hey, Omaha ... we've got a number of activated feature codes, but F984 wasn't one of them. As to what type of system 3x8 8x24 0x32 or an 0x16 is, I have no idea what you're talking about. I didn't set this system up (thank goodness!), in fact, I am only a user.

No technical expertise here other than having a knack for finding information I need online. (grin)

Ok First answer first. the startalk vm's have their clock sync'd to the KSU. second is F984 is normally used to forward a norstar phone to the norstar voice mail, the startalk flash (Password 1020000,or 120000) is flagged as fm time and date but I have never used it for this. FYI you can find out the feature codes for flash and vm with F9*1 or if your flash is using the low range F910-F919 you can check the feature codes with F9*5. also the MINI is a 12 mbx, no auto attendant, version of the standard flash 24 mbx.

Jerryreeve, thanks not correct the feature 984 does not forward a norstar phone to a norstar voice mail - it changes the date on a mini or a startalk. The mini has 24 mailboxes and 1 greeting table. What you are thinking of is the Flash Lite which has 12 mbox's and no AA or CCR. The Flash Voice Mail gets its time from the phone system.

ok, f984 is, like I said, the time for the flash systems(I dont use this feature myself on them) but on the Norstar Voice Mail (also called the Norstar Applications Module) it is the forward to VM feature (I just punched the buttons and verified this) also sorry for the miss on the MINI, Thats what I get for not looking it up before I type.
