You have to be careful changing the time on the 4K. First, it should be changed on the platform, and ideally the platform would be set up for NTP, which will keep the system in sync with a calibrated time source of some kind. I have not worked with V6. In V7 I have used the yast tool to change date/time and NTP settings. You have to be very careful. If you have remote shelves with LTG > 15 changing the time a significant amount can cause problems on the remote shelves - especially if they have APE processors.

Correct method is using the firstinst-netw script in Platform /var/opt/firstinstall, but I don't know if that's the ntp option is there in V6. So if you correct the install XML to have the correct NTP server, then use ./firstinst-netw -s ntp <xmlfile> to push the config in to 4K. You need to run /var/opt/firstinstall-netw.sh -? first, to see if the ntp option is there.

If not, change it from yast or date command, it'll be fine. If you have a simplex proc, it'll be really fine. If it's duplex, it'll just be fine, but without ntp the 2 processors start to drift apart in time.

Make sure you change it in platform linux, not assistant linux.
