Hi im using GW 5.5

to stop spam etc i've signed up with message labs.

i've got the incommming sorted i now need to setup the outgoing to go via ML.

i need to setup the default mail route... so all outgoing messages get sent via the ML server. i've tried setting the relay host for outbound messages but that doesnt seem to do it

any ideas?

cheers

What is the ML server? Is it at your location or offsite?

You either set the GWIA to send email directly out or to relay off of another server. Not much easier than that. If the relay isn't working, maybe the ML server needs to know that your Groupwise server will be relaying.. or something like that.

Hi,

the ml server is the message labs server that scans and checks the e-mail. this is off site.

the message labs server is ready to accept mail relayed from my groupwise server.

i've set the relay host for outbound messages to the message labs server and checked that this has set the /mh setting in the config file.

But sent mail is still going directly from the gw server ( i can see this looking at the mail headers).

as an asside can i set the novell server to only accept incomming smtp traffic from a particular address? i dont have bordermanager, or is this somthing i should do at the router level
