Setting the compiler to J2SE 1.4 Beta 3

I downloaded and installed JBuilder 5 Personal, but I wanted it to use java 1.4 instead of 1.3. So I set the JDK to 1.4 in the tools menu. Now I can't design anymore. When I start the visual designer I get a null pointer exception and when I try to compile I get a 'wrong version number' error. When I tried to compile using the JDK 1.4 from the command line I got the same error. I fixed this by setting the current version to 1.4 in my registry. JBuilder still doesn't work. Can someone tell me what the problem is.

P.S. The installation of the documents and tutorials hangs also. I think there is something wrong with javaw.exe.
