I have a IBM keyboard. Can't seem to get the backspace key to work as erase while I am on a dtterm AIX CDE session. I have tried using the vt100 setting stty erase ^H but that does not work. Current backspace key displays ^[[3~ The shift backspace does work.

929,

Have you tried :

stty erase ^[[3~

I would check out "smitty chlang" and ensure that you have the right keyboard selected.

In CDE I use this one:

ISO8859-1 English (UK) Default. The 8 key has an * on it. [en_GB]
