When I use the sourcesafe command line it sets my database to "Common". I need to set to another database to retrieve data. Can this be done from the command line? If not can it be set someone so that when I use the command line it defaults to the correct database.

Set the SSDIR environment variable to point to the directory that holds the SRCSAFE.INI file for the database you want to connect to. For example, if it was on another machine with a sharepoint you could set it like this:

set ssdir=\\server\share\vss

I think as long as that environment variable is set it will look there instead of at the "Common" database every time you use the command line.
