We have set up a farm of servers (3 just to start us off but growing to about 10 in a few months) we have set up with BT 2mbit lines to all of our sites (about 7 in total) and what we aim to do is hold every locations data on our servers here at head office. We have set up so that all users log into our servers and hey are doing this fine. However, as we have to have all the printers set up on all the servers people can print to different locations by accident .... is there any way i can set permissions or policies whereby i can set which printers users see.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

Thanks Anna

I just fixed this problem on my MetaFrameXP box

Citrix Document ID CTX989874, if you follow this they will only be able to see their own printers after they successfully logon and of course any other printers you give them permisson to use.

Thanks for the reply but were can i find these CTX articles

Thanks Anna

If I understand you correctly these are not auto created client printers but network printers installed only on the MetaFrame servers. I don't know how big your domain is or how many users you have but couldn't you just create groups for the different printer locations and assign permissions to the printers to these groups? Or if your users already are grouped in different locations, say sales people in one area and so on you could maybe use groups like that i e only the sales group have permissions to the printers near them and so on.

Yes, but if the printers are assigned to groups, how do you set the users default ptinter on login? Say these are not autocreated printers and the users have mandatory profiles?
