We recently created roaming profiles for our users that must log in from different workstations.  It seems that when the user logs in to a new workstaion, the printer default from the previous workstation is carried with the profile.  Is there a way to set the printer for the local workstation so that it remains the default for all users who log on to that workstation and to eliminate the profile carrying the printer default with it to a new workstation?

Printer settings are part of the user profile.&nbsp;&nbsp;I believe that if you are going to have roaming profiles, the printer settings will roam with them. <p> Jeff<br><a href=mailto: masterracker@hotmail.com> masterracker@hotmail.com</a><br><a href= > </a><br> Of all the things I've lost in life, I miss my mind the most ...

Try having the printer profile as &quot;print to LPT1&quot; and set the individual workstation to print to a specific spooler captured to LPT1.<br><br>I don't use roaming profiles so I can't test it...soz.

1. Log on as an administrator
2. Go to Start>Settings>Printers and select &quot;Add Printer&quot;
3. Select LOCAL port > create a new port and type the exact path of the network printer (e.g. \\printerserver\hplaserj4100
4. Point to driver location when prompted...you're done!

Now, what you've done is tricked the computer into thinking the network printer is connected locally where it is now available to all users who log on to that box.

Hope this helps!
