Setting port speed on a Sync/Async port in async mode! 1

I have attached a modem to a Sync/Async port and the port appears to be running at 9600 as a default.

The modem takes its speed from the com port it is attached to. I can not find how to change the speed of the port as things like "bandwidth" are only informational and "speed" only seems to work on line interfaces.

I can lock the modem up to 460800 which seems a little extreme and I am woried that I will never be able to talk to it again if things go wrong as I am not sure that I have a PC that can talk at that speed to reset it down!

Any Ideas! [sig][/sig]

When you set up the serial interface for async, it should have created a new line interface associated with it where you can use the speed command. Do a "show line" and see which line is associated with the serial interface. [sig][/sig]

Right on the money!!!

Thank you so much, this has saved me a lot of time and worry!

The line was set to 9600 and I used the speed command to up it however, I had no idea that there was a line connected to the serial port!

Once again thank you! [sig][/sig]
