HI,

I have created my guest user and put them in the group GUEST.

I want this user to be able to see some folders but not others...

There are alot of documents in Livelink and went I try to set the permission for items and sub-items - it takes forever to go through all the documents..

Is there a quicker way to set permission so that the guest user can not see some folders but can see all contents of the other folders?

Thanks,

Piesang

Piesang,
The most efficent method of doing this is adding the user to the Enterprise Workspace and then changing their permissions to either the highest level - if they will have access to more nodes than they won't - or the lowest level - if they are to NOT have access to the majority of nodes. Then apply the change to all sub items and let it run.

Once done, simply go in and make the changes you need to at the other parts of the tree to open/close access for this user.

This is one of the big reasons for using Groups rather than users as it allows you to declare all the groups and set their rights so you can just shuffle the users around within them to amend their permissions.
