setting PATH -- /COMMANDS in dos is ???? in linux???

hello how are you?

i am a beginner in linux....
i need to set the path for my linux....i know how to set them...
but don't know what to set....
what is COMMANDS of dos in linux?

i need to execute my C++ exe file....but don't know where it is?


can you help?

Check out a great site for newbies. Also a great resource is I don't know what you mean by COMMANDS, if you mean all commands I suggest you look at the first URL I gave you it will probably have a quick command translation list available. d3funct

The software required `Windows 95 or better', so I installed Linux.
 
Hi,

As a regular user simply edit the PATH in your $HOME/.bash_profile file. To set for all users you would use /etc/profile .
