Setting parameters and grouping subreports

I am a beginner with Crystal and am using version 10.

I have 2 subreports in a main report. Both subreport uses the same database. Each subreport has a date associated with a specific field in the database. Each subreport is also grouped by a persons initials from a field in the database.

Export Date
Export By

Subreport2
Prep Date
Prepped By

I want to be able to enter date parameters for the main report that will only include information based on the date for each of the 2 date fields export date and prep date.

Then I would like to have the main report grouped by the initials in the fields export by and prepped by.

You cannot group by fields in a subreport, so if one of the subs contains all IDs, you could use that as the main report. You can create the date parameter in the main report and then link the parameter to the same parameter that you create in the subreport. Then you would only get one prompt. Check the selection formula in the sub to make sure it is set up correctly with the {?Date} parameter.
