I should I confugure the Static IP setting for a second pc connected to my Lynksis router. Both pc's are running win2k.
Here are the static IP settings for the main pc:
Primary DNS Suffix . . . . . . . :
Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Broadcast

IP Routing Enabled. . . . . . . . : No

WINS Proxy Enabled. . . . . . . . : No

Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Linksys LNE100TX(v5) Fast Ethernet Adapter
Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-04-5A-89-DA-23

DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No

IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.5

Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0

Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1

DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 68.39.224.5
68.39.224.6

I tried using DHCP on the second pc and it is not working.
I assigned a static IP 192.168.1.6 and a Gateway of 192.168.1.2. When I ping I get replies but not connection to the internet.
I used DNS 68.39.224.5 and 68.39.224.6.

IP 192.168.1.5
Subnet 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.1.1
DNS as you have them, or just put in 192.168.1.1

Oops, I meant 192.168.1.6

The Subnet, Gateway and DNS addressing should be identical on all machines; only the IP increments.
