First let me discribe the set up. We're using a NAM 2G identified useing the FAQ found here. It has 4 simm slots, the power supply is in the lower right and it has a NIC built into the SBC. The NAM is also headless and in my poking around couldn't even find a spot to plug in a keyboard or mouse. The VM version is 2.1 I believe but havn't been able to verify this.
What I'm trying to do is get in to assign an IP to the built in NIC so we can administer the voicemail via our LAN and possible use N*'s software to network our NAMs together via our Frame Relay lines. My 1st attempt was to connect Hyperterminal up with a Null modem cable but got no response. Next, just in case I had identified it wrong and I really had a 3.x or higher, I created a new dial up connection useing nvm2ppp.inf as my driver and tried. Again no luck. Finally I hooked up Cat5 the laptop's NIC and the SBC NIC and tried pinging 192.168.110.10, 11, and 12 in the hopes that the NIC's IP was default and I could get in that way. No joy.
One piece of literature I have says to put a head on the system and configure the NIC through OS/2 warp but a)I can't find a keyboard and mouse port and b)am leary of adding a video card to the NAM as I have an old computer system phobia. My boss wouldn't be too thrilled if I brought the whole voice mail system down.
I'm a bit new at the telecom game so I've probably overlooked somthing obvious. Thanks for any help you can give.
