setting in config file to display pages over internet

Good Morning,

I have had multiple problems with images and pages displaying correctly when http is issued internally but not displaying when the http requests are coming in to the apache server externally from the internet.
I am on version 1.3.12.
Is there perhaps a setting in config file that I have incorrect?
Has anyone else had this problem?
Currently I converted a power point presentation with both an image and html text that displays fine internally but when I look at same presentation at home, I see no images or text only the navigational buttons.
