We want to increase our storage capacity and use GSM to do this. Has anyone used this format - if so, where do you set it?

Is it a COS, subscriber, or Global setting?

Thanks,
CJH

It appears this is a global setting on the MAS...

To open the Audio Encoding dialog box:

1. In the Voice Mail System Configuration window, click the voice mail domain.

2. Double-click Audio Encoding. The system displays the Audio Encoding dialog box for the selected VMD, with the Audio Encoding tab active.

To configure Audio Encoding properties, complete the following fields:

Default Audio Encoding Format Select the audio encoding format you require. You can select one of the following:

Microsoft GSM 6.10 (the default)
G.711 µ-law (mu-law)
G.711 A-law

Still trying to determine what the maximum capacity would be per mailbox with GSM. With G.711 it appears to be around 136 minutes - we may be able to assume it would be @ 3 times that ~400 minutes or so. But not sure.

Thanks,
CJH

If you use GSM the total on a high availability system goes to 15,000 hours of storage

We are going with HA - but what does this equate to per mailbox?

If we had 1500 mailboxes, does that mean each box would have 10 hours?

Thanks,
CJH
