Setting Dip Switch on G8X16 2

Hi
I have a BCM 400 4.0 i'm trying to install a G8X16
Here is my Config
Bus7 DTDM
Bus6 G8X16
Bus4 ASM
I install the G8x16 in bus6 because it take up 2 buses.
The 8 co show up and i can program the but the 16 extension will not show up.
When i go in Telephone resource the 16 digital set show unequipped.

G8x16 should be on 5 , not 6

Will it take up Bus 5 and 4 or bus5 and 6

The lines take the Bus you set the dipswitches for and the stations take the next HIGHEST bus. So, Bus 5 ad 6.

You can put it on bus 6 if you want provided your system is set for a 6/2 split. I think you will find that the station module will continue to show unequipped until you connect at least one phone set onto one of the ports. At least that's been my experience.

if the dtm is on 7 you can't put it on 6. bus 5 is the best choice.

Does it take up two whole buses? OR

Is it similar to the 4X16 where it takes up 1/4 of the first bus and then the next whole bus?

Therefore, the 8X16 would take 1/2 of the first bus for the CO lines and then the next whole bus for the phones?

Here is a key peice of advice I learn the hard way you can not put station and tunnks on the same bus.

Yep. That one I got.

But like the 4X16, you could put other CTMs or GATMs on the first bus along with the 4 portion of the 4X16.

So, I was thinking that it would follow that the 8X16 would be the same.

Right. But mevans1974 posted that it takes two buses.

What I want to know is if I can put another CTM8 on the same bus that I assigned to my 8X16.

So for instance:
Bus 6 offset 2 for my 8X16 (bus 7 is used for the stns)
Bus 6 offset 0 for my CTM8

Is that how the 8X16 is configured? One and a half buses?

Oops, I thought you were telling me that "like" MBM can go on the same bus. I knew that but I specifically wanted to know if other CTMs or GATMs could go on the same bus as the 8X16.
