Setting defaults with reports 1

Is there any way to setup a default setting so all my reports open with a certain font, size and background setting? I have to perform a routine set of commands to establish a base before I build my report.

Should be simple, but I haven't found out how to do this and it is bothering me that I have to do this each time I start a new report (forms too, but I don't do enough for that to bother me)

You can create your own template by using the format option. Open a report in detail mode that has all of the settings you need, on the menu bar click Format, Auto Format. In the window that pops up you will see a button for customise. That is what you want. You will want to creat a new AutoFormat based on your report. GIve it a title to save the template to. Now each time you start a new report, just select Format and your customised report will be in the list.

Oh, and the forms work the same way. Use the Format option.

Thanks, I didn't even give the Autoformat a thought. I will tweek with my format and work with it. Thanks!! Great tip... something so simple was overlooked.
