Hello Everybody!

I hope someone can help with this problem I'm having.
I have a query based on multiple tables. Within this query are 2 calculated fields (x and y)based on values in the tables. I also have a third calculated field (z) based on the results of the first two calculated fields. The results are displayed just fine, but when I try to specify criteria on the third field (z)it produces no results and asks for values for the first two calculated fields (x and y). I can specify criteria for x or y and get results but I only need to be able to set criteria for z. The calculations are simple division and subtraction formulas. If anyone has any idea why I can't do this I would love to hear them.

Thanks,
Eric

Hi!

It would be helpful to post the SQL that you are using.

Hi Eric:

I just went through this exactly. I got some help from some nice folks and finally solved my problem with a make-table query and set my criteria in the resultant "made table." My solution works, though I make tweak it with the suggestions of Kyle and GingerR. You might like to see the disccusion in thread701-166007.

Thanks for the input,

Gus, you had the exact same problem that I was having. However I ended up fixing it a bit differently. In my final formula instead of using the first two calculated fields I just made a new formula incorporating the original uncaculated fields. With a lot of parenthesis and brackets I got it to work. I can now supress zero fields within my query.

I also tried your idea, Gus, and it worked fine.

Thanks for the responses

Eric
