I'm running Networker 7.3.2jumbo on a Win2k3 server.

We have our backups start each night at 1am. The problem I'm running into is that they take too long to complete.

So I'd like to set a time that all backups will stop regardless of whether or not they're done. Is this possible? Or is there any other way to accomplish this? Thanks.

You can always create a script that use nsradmin to stop the groups and schedule that script to run at a specific time.

I would however not be comfortable with skipping backup due to the amount of time it takes to complete. You usually back up things because you want to be able to recover. Interrupt the backups would stop you from doing that.

I think you should look at the obvious. That is starting the backups earlier. If that's not possible, you should find the bottlenecks and improve the performance in your backup system. Could be anything from teaming NICs, change parallelism to using SnapImage or PowerSnap solutions.
