Setting a Text Item transparent in Oracle Forms 6i: how???

Hi!

I have a Oracle 6i Application and would like to know how to set a text item transparent..

I chose 'no fill' in the layout but nothing changed!
My goal is to have a bar made from a gradient image, but the titles I have to put there must be transparent, otherwise it wouldn't be nice...
