Thanks in advance for any help.
XXX is my local domain name. The server is XXXserver. The XXX is the same for both.
I have SBS 2008. In exchange, I am trying to set-up my multi-function printer/scanner/copier to be able to email scans to it.
Through Exchange Management Console, I have recreated a custom Hub Transport connector. Status says it's enabled, and protocol logging level I have it saying 'mail.xxx.local.
I have allowed all IP addresses to connect to it under port 25.
Authentication, I have nothing checked on.
Permission group I have nothing checked on either.
When I got to the machine and set it to send emails to mail.XXX.local or mail.XXXserver.local, neither works. The machine does not use any means of authentication.
From my experience with Exchange 2000 before I retired that machine, all I had to do is specify the name of the machine (server) in this case for the smtp field and it worked no problems.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
