Setting a border without

Hello there,

Is there a way to set a border of 1px without applying a class AND/OR especially without setting a value to a cell? Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Well, thanks for your answer but unless there is a value in a cell, the borders don't show. That's what I'm trying to accomplish. Showing borders in <td> without &nbsp;. Thanks anyway.

i dont think thats possible. because without a value the cell will not be recognised by the browser...

Known is handfull, Unknown is worldfull

Hi,

Can you explain to us why you are not wanting to use &amp;nbsp;? Can you also post the code you are currently using?

Otherwise, there isn't really much we can help with as we have no idea what code would cause a border on your code.

Thanks Wullie and Vbkris. If I post the code it'll take up the whole forum, ha! I have about 40 lines in a table set up for a form in ASP for users to fill in. I just didn't want to take the time to add &nbsp; to every stinkin' cell so the border would show. Lazy you know. I'll just copy and paste. Many thanks again for your help, though. You have answered my question!

Put a transparent image in the cell. Easy, quick, and doesn't add to the overhead.

There's always a better way. The fun is trying to find it!
