Set Windows Classic Look as default. We are currently upgrading to Windows XP Pro. A Question has come up and we need an answer. We want to set the windows classic view so when any user or new user logs on they have the Classic windows view instead of the XP view.
We feel this would be simpler for user's. That way we don't get multiple calls on how, where, and why.
Is it possible to dio this and how do we do it?

Thanks all!
Mark

You need to setup a user on the machine with the Windows Classic look (and any other 'defaults' you want all users to get), then log on as Adminstrator and use the Copyto function to copy the user's profile over the 'Default User' profile. All new users will then get this as their starting profile - see
If you're using (existing) roaming profiles, you may need another solution (like rebuilding roaming profile)

Actually I answered my own question. For anybody who sees this. This is how,
Go Start, run, type gpedit.msc.
User Configuration
Administrative Templates
Start Menu & Taskbar
Find "Force Classic Start Menu" Enable this option and logins will be in classic view. Note: if you choice this option it will disable the XP view and the user can not change this. The option is no longer there. It does not cange the control panel or other areas to this option only Task Bar & Start Menu
