Alright. I just got thrown into a job that came with extremely limited documentation as to how everything is set up.

I read somewhere something that mentioned it might be a limitation of 2000 server (but i find that hard to believe)

So, I am trying to set up a group of users to have access only to their home directory and not be able to look at the user names of other users in the same shared folder as their home folder.

I am a bit unfamiliar with Active Directory unfortunately.

SO any help would be great!

From your question this isn't really Active Directory related (it's general Windows security) If you create a share called USERS and create subdirectories for each of your users, you can hinder their ability to view the other user folders by setting the appropriate permissions at the folder level
Ex)
C:\USERS - Domain Users (READ)
| Administrators (FULL CONTROL)

C:\USERS\UserA - Remove Inheritance from Parent folder
USERA - Modify
Administrators - FULL CONTROL

and so on

You can then use AD users and computers to assign users a home drive the points to the user folder.

I would strongly recommend you get a book on Windows Server and start reading up on this particular topic since this fundamental to Windows administration

Hope this helps

If you'll set a home folder in each of the users profile based upon a share on your file server, then you don't have to create each individual folder nor set individual permissions, AD will handle that for you.

I'm Certifiable, not cert-ified.
It just means my answers are from experience, not a book.
